Ryori Kaiseki
Location: Los Angeles Year: 2023
Ryori was conceived as a reinterpretation of traditional kaiseki. Honoring its discipline, seasonality, and precision while introducing a contemporary twist. The project balances cultural integrity with a more intimate and cinematic atmosphere, where heritage meets modern expression. This tension between tradition and contrast defines the brand’s identity and visual direction.
The packaging was designed as an extension of the dining experience.
Minimal, tactile, and intentional. Soft neutral materials are paired with delicate fish illustrations and subtle stamps inspired by traditional Japanese markets, creating a balance between heritage and contemporary refinement.
The social media presence was developed as an editorial extension of the brand identity. The visual direction combines bold food textures, chef portraiture, and minimal compositions to highlight craftsmanship and freshness.
The project extended beyond branding into full creative direction and conceptual development, including interior design guidance. Every element, from spatial mood to visual communication, was designed to function as one cohesive experience.
